Arnold Palmer Learning Center
The Arnold Palmer Learning Center is starting to take shape! Construction progress has been steady, and the outline of the building is now very clear. At this point, the estimated completion time is approximately 10-11 months. Please feel free to check out the regular updates, with photos and videos, on our Twitter page.
Stories from "The Bob" - Eddie Zhang
As many of you already know, The First Tee of Pittsburgh operates the Bob O'Connor Golf Course at Schenley Park on behalf of the city. The chapter's mission is to create "Good Golfers, Better People." During our recent Tee It Forward annual fundraiser, one of our program graduates took the time to explain how TFTP has impacted his life in a positive way.
Ensign Eddie Zhang, USN recently graduated from the US Naval Academy this spring, and is currently stationed in San Diego. Eddie's parents are first-generation immigrants to the United States, and he grew up in Murrysville. As a boy he joined TFTP, and when he was old enough, he parents began dropping him off at the Bob, where he played and practiced all day.
His experiences here at the Bob, and exposure to the life skills taught in The First Tee, profoundly influenced his life. We encourage you to CLICK HERE to visit our YouTube channel, and watch Eddie's presentation for yourself.

Quick.Golf - Pay By The Hole
Fall is here, and daylight hours are shrinking, even though the weather has remained quite warm. If you want to play, but don't have time for even 9-holes, we encourage you to use Quick.Golf, and pay by the hole. This ingenious app allows you to register online, check in to the Golf Shop, and pay only for the holes you play on the course. It's only $1.50 per hole! PGA Family Cup & Fall Invitational
The Bob will be hosting two events this month, in addition to our regular schedule of programming classes with The First Tee of Pittsburgh.
On Sunday, October 20, 2019, we will have our first PGA Family Cup tournament. This event utilizes the two-player scramble format just like the PGA Junior League program for youth. Adults and Juniors who belong to the same family to play together as a team. Each team member will get a hat, bag tag and ball marker, and a PGA Family Cup picture frame. Teams can have up to two adults and two juniors, and substitutions can be made during play. The cost is $35 per team to REGISTER HERE online, and green fees will be paid on the day of play. Tee times for this event will be from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The Steelers have a BYE week on Sunday, October 20th, so there is NO GAME during the event!
On Saturday, October 27, 2019 we will be hosting The First Tee of Pittsburgh Fall Invitational, with tee times from 12:00 to 3:00 PM. This event is for TFTP members, and gives them the opportunity to play on the course with their peers. You can CLICK HERE to visit our chapter website and register for this event.
